Service Rewards That Will Be Considered As SSI Premiums

The Social Security Institution’s 2016/12 numbered notice has been published and entered into the force as of 22.06.2016.

By examining Article 80 of the Social Security and General Health Insurance Law numbered 5510 titled “Earnings Subject Premiums”, the notice has brought clarity to the topic of which benefits cannot be treated as benefits in kind.

Support To Sheltered Workshops for The Employment of The Disabled

A regulation was published in the Official Gazette in order to support the legislation on sheltered workshops with different incentives, which has been in force since 2013 in Türkiye. According to the published regulation, provided that the employers employ a certain number of disabled workers and obtained a sheltered workshop certificate, they will be able to benefit from wage incentives up to TL 700.00 per employed worker.

Workers Without A Professional Competence Certificate Cannot Be Employed

With the bag law taking effect approximately one year earlier, an important regulation has been stipulated. Article 74 of the Law Regarding Amendment to the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6645 and to Certain Laws and Decree Laws has made it obligatory for workers employed within the scope of Professional Competence Board Law No. 5544 and workers assigned in occupations that pose a threat to occupational health and safety to obtain an occupational competence certificate. A period of one year was allocated for employers to switch to this practice but this period will expire on 05/25/2016.

HR's Responsibility on The Protection of Personal Data

In the beginning of April 2016, the question of how sensitive personal data shall be protected arose when the personal information of over 50 million Turkish citizens was released on internet. Coincidently, around the same date the Turkish state released new legislation on how to protect personal information. The legislation entitled the Protection Of Personal Data was published on April 7, 2016 in the Legal Turkish Newspaper and is based on the European Union Commission and EU Parliament’s 95/46/EC numbered, October 24, 1995 dated Directive on the protection of the free movement of personal information and its process.
