Covid-19 Not Accepted As A Work Accident or Occupational Disease

With the circular dated 07/5/2020 and numbered 2020/12; SSI has announced that the insurance holders who are exposed to Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease will have sickness insurance provisions, not work accident or occupational disease provisions.

The below statement has been located under the Law no: 5510, Article 15;

"Sicknesses of the insurance holder under items (a) and (b) of paragraph one of Article 4, other than work accident or occupational disease and which causes the incapacity to work in the individual are sickness statuses."

According to this; It has been decided to obtain provision under the regular sickness for the insurance holders who are exposed to Covid-19 disease.
