2022 Minimum Wage Support Procedures

The 2022 minimum wage support has come into force with the Law No: 7417 published on the Official Gazette dated 01 July 2022 and numbered 31887.

With the Communique dated 07.09.2022 and numbered 2022/19, the procedures regarding the minimum wage support have been published by the Social Security Institution.

As a summary, in case that all conditions are met, the minimum wage support will be automatically deducted from the social security premium payments on the upcoming periods by the Social Security Institution without any application.

The conditions required for 2022 minimum wage support can be summarized as below:

  • For the workplaces registered before 2022; if the social security base amount is 179 Turkish lira or less in the monthly withholding tax and premium service declarations for the same month of 2021,
  • For the workplaces subject to collective bargaining, if the social security base amount is 358 Turkish lira,
  • For the workplaces which have employees working underground for “Lignite” and “Hard Coal” extraction, if the social security base amount is 447 Turkish lira,
  • For the workplaces included in the scope of this Law for the first time in 2022,

The amount which is calculated as 3.33 TL multiple with the total premium days related to the period July – December 2022, would be deducted from the social security payments automatically without any application.

In terms of the employees within the scope of this article;

The employees whose long-term insurance branches (disability, old-age, and death) are paid, would be under the scope of this article.

Based on that, for the individuals whose long-term insurance branches are not paid, could not be considered within the scope of this article.
